MINNEAPOLIS— Go Fish, an emerging force in family entertainment, hits the road this month for the “Snazzy Tour 2008.” Presented by MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) International, the Tour will unveil a brand new Go Fish concert experience for all ages, highlighted by music from the group’s latest release, Snazzy, as well as many other Go Fish favorites.
Kicking-off Friday in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, the “Snazzy Tour 2008” will stop in Memphis, Tennessee; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Madison, Wisconsin; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Lakeville, Minnesota, among other markets this year.
“Our concerts are a natural extension of our mission to make great music for kids that won't drive parents bonkers,” said Go Fish founder Jamie Statema. “We are putting a lot of effort into creating a high quality, entertaining show that parents and grandparents will enjoy just as much, if not more, than their kids. We are confident that this will be the ‘snazziest’ family show out on the road this year!”
According to MOPS, “Go Fish effectively brings both musical entertainment and biblical principals together that both preschoolers and their parents can enjoy.”
Snazzy, Go Fish’s fourth children’s recording, released in October and is distributed by Word Distribution. Produced by Go Fish founder Jamie Statema and Darren Rust, Snazzy contains 12 songs—nine of them composed by Statema—which continue the group’s mission of creating relevant music for kids that communicates biblical values.
The growing line-up of acclaimed children’s recordings from Go Fish also includes Splash, Superstar and Snooze, along with the Showtime DVD. The group released their second Christmas recording, Snow, in 2006. The Minneapolis-based trio has been covered by such national media as the “Today” Show, American Profile and Focus on the Family magazine, among other outlets. Go Fish live performances have attracted sell-out crowds across the country, including an audience of 14,000 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.
MOPS International is a non-profit organization that creates mom communities and quality mothering resources to help “better moms make a better world.” One of the main ways this is accomplished is through a MOPS group, a place where moms can come—just as they are—to build friendships, find mothering support and gain practical parenting strategies.
